Located on the far eastside of El Paso, Americas High School opened its doors in September 1996 on a desert plain just waiting to be populated with new homes and businesses. Being a new school, the student body consisted of seventh, eighth, and ninth graders under the principalship of Mr. Tony Baca. Forever recorded in history, that ninth grade student body became the first graduating class at Americas High School in May 2000.

Loma Verde Elementary School opened its doors to the community December 2, 2002. The school serves approximately 750 students in grades K-5. Loma Verde was named after the street (Loma Verde) which intersects with Ted Houghton street and is built on a hill ("loma" in Spanish). The school is organized in seven clusters of classrooms that are identified by the names of the continents of the world.

Socorro ISD began construction of its 35th campus, John Drugan on February 24, 2005. The school is named after John Drugan, a former SISD Board Trustee who served the district for 11 years. From the barren desert inhabited only by mice, rabbits, and coyotes, the beautiful building was designed on the concept on an airport's concourse. The campus opened January 9, 2006.

Myrtle Cooper Elementary School opened in 1987 as a PK-8 school. The campus was named after the late Myrtle Cooper who served as the first superintendent for the Socorro Independent School District in 1961.

Capt. Walter E. Clarke Middle School - El Paso, Texas
Capt. Walter E. Clarke opened its doors in 1993 with a population of approximately 1,400 students. Since its opening, the school has had a yearly average of 950 - 1,400 students and is one of the largest middle schools in the Socorro Independent School District. Clarke Middle School serves 6th, 7th and 8th grade students from Myrtle Cooper, Vista Del Sol, and Sierra Vista elementary schools. The school was named after World War II navy officer and pilot, Captain Walter E. Clarke. During his military tour, Captain Clarke was recognized by the President of the United States and awarded the Gold Star for his many meritorious achievements in aerial flights while piloting a Fighter Plane during WWII.
