Eastlake High School is located near Horizon City, Texas, on the edge of El Paso. It opened its doors in 2010, with its first class of freshman. It added a new class of freshman each subsequent year. It graduated its first senior class in 2014. Since its inception, Eastlake High School has proven itself as a leader in academics, athletics, and fine arts. With each passing year, Eastlake High School builds on its tradition of excellence.

Desert Wind School opened in July 2003 with 445 students as a PK-5 campus. The school colors are blue and gold and the mascot is a Mighty Colt. The school serve students in grades PK-8 from the El Paso Hills subdivision and has an enrollment of 792 students. The school is located approximately one mile east of Horizon Blvd., along Interstate 10.

Horizon Heights is a year round school in the Socorro Independent School District. It was built and founded in 1983 in Horizon City, just east of El Paso, Texas. In 2014, the school celebrated its 30th anniversary. Horizon Heights was a self-contained K-8 school when it was built, and had a student population of 400. The school is now a PK-5 campus and serves over 900 students.
On Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 the Socorro Independent School broke ground to the 38th campus named in honor of a long-time educator, the late Dr. Sue A. Shook. Dr. Shook served the learning community close to 30 years, providing outstanding leadership in the state and nation by bringing light to Year-Round Education and being instrumental in teacher preparedness programs. Since it opened its doors in July of 2007, Dr. Sue Shook Elementary has been recognized by the state, region, and district for its student academic achievement and innovativeness of academic programs to accelerate learning.
The building, that sits in a 25-acre site, houses 930 students and continues to alleviate the growing population in the Horizon City area.
