Nicholas Lewels 1975-2003. Son of Joe Lewels and Hilda Stockmeyer graduated from Coronado High School and earned a degree in film and environmental science from the College of Santa Fe. He owned Lightfoot Productions and was a talented videographer and was passionate about conserving the environment.

Family fled Jimenez, Mexico because Pancho Villa's men were going to kill Aurora's father, Carlos Munoz, who owned a grocery store and resisted giving away goods to Villa's men. Carlos opened a small grocery store at 625 S. El Paso St. Later, the Cisneros lived at 701 1/2 West Main St. in Sunset Heights.
Joe Lewels was born in El Paso on April 10, 1944 to Francisco Jose Lewels Oviedo and Aurora Lewels Munoz. He was graduated from Burges H.S. in 1962 and from Texas Western College in 1966. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army and as a reconnaissance pilot in the Republic of South Vietnam in 1967-1968. He received a Ph.D. in Journalism from the University of Missouri and later served as chairman of the journalism department at UTEP. He retired in 2013 after 31 years as an international financial adviser. He is the author of three book: "The God Hypothesis," "Rulers of the Earth" and "Uses of the Media by the Chicano Movement."
