The Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals started at Los Alamitos Race Course in Southern California in 1995. The idea was to have some fun with the Wienerschnitzel community by conducting dachshund races to find the “Fastest Wiener in the West”. The first event was so fun that we decided to make it an annual event. Over the years, the event has expanded to other Wienerschnitzel markets and winning dogs have been featured on the Tonight Show as well as in People Magazine
