Santos "Super" Sanchez wearing one of the new uniforms which was gifted to the 79 piece band of Bowie High School by the President of Mexico General Avila Comacho on September 16, 1945. This photo was taken in 1946.He was given the name "Super" because he saved a kid from drowning in the canal in El Paso, Texas.

Bowie High School Band in Mexico City - 1946
The Bowie High School Band in Mexico City in November of 1946. The 79 piece band of Bowie High School accompanied the Bowie Bears football team to play a game against the Mexico City Y.M.C.A. team. A year prior, The President of Mexico General Manuel Avila Camacho had invited Bowie High School to Mexico City to present to them sixty band uniforms on the afternoon of September 16, 1945.
