Junior League of El Paso Inc. Good Time Singers

Music Therapy for the Elderly provides therapy for El Paso’s senior citizens in the form of musical performances and nurturing social contact.  Active and Sustaining members of the Junior League of El Paso Inc. sing and perform at area nursing homes and adult centers.  This project has been touching lives of El Pasoans since 1989.

JLEP Good Time Singers, El Paso, TX, circa 1995

JLEP members Sherry Gould and Carol Stripling entertain the elderly as part of the "Good Time Singers". This is part of a project is called "Music Therapy for the Elderly" and members perform more than 40 popular songs from the 30s, 40s and 50s for nursing home residents in the community. Music Therapy for the Elderly Project is JLEP’s longest running Community Project.

JLEP Break the Cycle

In 1997 The League adopted a new focus statement which provided: "The Junior League of El Paso believes that through programs and projects directed at increasing public awareness and education on the issue of domestic violence and abuse, the El Paso community will begin to the break they cycle of family violence."
