Inducted as part of the 2012 El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary Class “Umpire Extraordinaire” for 25 years starting in 1980 Began his career learning from fellow El Paso Baseball Hall of Famer Yvan Rechy Worked youth and summer league baseball including American Legion play throughout the Southwest Region Selected 20 consecutive years to officiate Texas High School State Baseball playoffs 1985-2005 Umpired UTEP, New Mexico State, WAC, Missouri Valley and Big West Conference play Selected to umpire 3 All Star High School Showcase games Umpired 2 El Paso Diablos exhibition games against the Milwaukee Brewers Served as local rules interpreter for the Texas Association of Sports Officials because of his knowledge of the rules Prior to umpiring, he played 30 years in the Lower Valley League for El Paso Baseball Hall of Famer Alex Villalobos and in the Old Timers League with fellow El Paso Baseball Hall of Famer D.
