Fire Station 12 is a small historical building

Fire Station 12 is located in 3801 Fort Blvd at the corner at Tompkins Rd. Station 12 was completed September 1947, it is a territorial style that was very much in style for the neighborhood at the time. It has been transformed during the years. During the 90s, the beautiful Italian cypress trees that adorned the north and south walls were removed along with the educational botanical native plant island in front of the station. Today plans are in the works to again alter the tranquil appearance by removing the turf and replacing it with gravel. It houses a medic unit and pumper. a 1993 Pierce 1500 GPM. The apparatus fits into the antiquated bay with only inches to spare on either side, only major remodeling could give it more space for comfort. The station is small and at times overflowing with personnel, but the territory gives the pumper crew a good work out with many residential fires. The medic crew is constantly on the road relocating, wanting to be ahead of the next medic unit for a call. There is much history and may forgotten stories at this station, but is wonderful duty for those that do not mind constant activity.
