Coronado Country Club

The rugged terrain that is now Coronado Country Club Estates was state land until 1914, when H.E. Cantrell acquired a large tract, in order to develop a Phoenix style mountainside golf course surrounded by homes. Carroll and Daeuble, Architects and Ralph Davis, Architect, designed the club house which was built by Thomas Hansen and James Dunn. Half acre lots were sold for 7,500 which included a $1,500 club membership. Construction of the first houses and the golf course began in 1959. The club opened in June of 1961. Today, Coronado Country Club has an 18 hole challenging golf course, 7 lit tennis courts, a fully equipped gym, a championship sized swimming pool, banquet facilities and fine dining 6 days a week.It is famous for its panoramic view overlooking Mexico, Texas and New Mexico.
