Escontrias opened it's doors in 1924 as the first school in the new Socorro Independent School District. The Bull Pups have been howling with success ever since! Besides a National Blue Ribbon Award, Escontrias Elementary School is one of 16 schools nationwide to earn a National Excellence in Urban Education Award in 2014.
