Article about Sister Frances Agnes Bechtold, El Paso Times Feb .17, 2012, p. B1 & 2B.

Article Sister Mary E. Boesen, "Bechtold organized El Paso Girls Club, "El Paso Times, Feb. 13,2012, p. 1B.

March is Women's History Month. A time to honor teachers then and now.

Hilda Kelley graduated from Loretto in 1962 and taught in the Language Dept. with Monique Justice, a well regarded teacher of French. Sister Matthew Marie served as principal as well as teaching math. Sister Frances Agnes Bechtold trained many students for successful careers in science.

Sister Mathew Marie, Sister John Denis, Evelyn McNamee all had a major hand in my education.

Many of these same faculty members were at Loretto when I was a student. I graduated in 1965 but at that time, Mrs. Sylvian Gibson was not a Math and Science teacher as she was in 1966. However, I later met Sylvian and became friends. Sadly she passed away a few years ago (~2014), and had been living in El Paso at the time. I fondly remember Mrs. Keleman (Math), Sister Edith Anne (Biology/Art), and Sister John Patrice (Music/Orchestra/Combo) from my days at Loretto.
