El Paso Police Department Flag 2016
In 2016, the El Paso Police Department held a contest for sworn and non-sworn employees to design a new department flag. Officers and civilians from different sections submitted their entries.The top five designs were chosen as finalists and employees voted online for their best choice. Officer Esteban Villalobos #2993 is a patrol officer from the Central Regional Command, and his flag design received the most votes. His design was sent to the Chief of Police for final review and recommendation. After some collaboration, the final design was approved and revealed at police headquarters on May 16, 2016 to kick off Police Memorial Week. Texas utilized renovated Sears building in Five Points Neighborhood circa 2016.
